My First Job

Hi Girls ... Loong Time No See .. How are you doing all =D
Well ... Today I will share with you about my first job ....

After the Graduation of Bachelor's Programe in Accounting,, I started looking for a job, as anyone will do, by applying my CV on my college portal. I think this was a very important step done by the college in order to help the graduates finding their first job easily. Moreoevr there are different ways to apply your CV such as attending the Career Fair in Dubai OR Abu Dhabi, employer's day in Dubai Women's College, register in websites that provide you with vacancies that matches your major in your country such as bayt.com & monster.com. Another way is to fisically visit the company you want to work with and ask if they have any vacancies and keep your business card and your CV. This will show that you are very interested in their company and they diffinatly will consider you.

Anyways, I received many calls from different companies and banks, gave some interviews and finally got a job in Al Habtoor Group. This is my first week in the Finance/Account Department, and I have done some work such as depositing cheques/ cash to the bank and make payments using the system. Most of the time I have to be free since they are changing their system and they have to do some work regarding that which make them busy to give me any work to do.
But as you all know Being at work without Doing any work is ANNOYING & BORING.

Wish all of YOU and ME a very Best of Luck, Success and Fun in our First Step towards our
Career Life

Training Session Reflection

According to our Management Information System course MIS”; every student had to prepare a training session related to Google which are the Web 2.0 Tools. In this Post I’m going to explain briefly about each topic and things I liked or disliked about them.

1- First of all I’m going to talk about my topic which was Google Reader “an RSS Feed”. There are much more other readers you can download or view online but Google Reader is one of the most used reader, because it is free, online and easy to use anywhere. Basically RSS stands for Rich Site Summary where you can view all your updated articles, websites, news sites, videos or any interesting topic that you visit every day.  You only need to subscribe to them and you are done. If you use Smart Phone such as IPhone you can synchronize your subscriptions through an application called Feeddler. You can view all the description related to this app from HereAs I don’t have specific websites that I use regularly,I think it won’t be beneficial for me at this point of time although i tires to use it to updating regarding job vacancies. Maybe in the future I will use it more … who knows..

2- Moving on to the next topic which is Google Calendar, it is basically a normal calendar that puts all your tasks, appointments and important events.  The interesting part of it that you can add extra calendars such as the Islamic Holidays. Other than that you can select a calendar and synchronize it with your smart phones.

3 Google Chrome is a browser where you have the opportunity to customize your browser by adding your favorite themes. Moreover there is an application store where you can download games and applications and other interesting stuff. Besides there are some icons such as panic button, where you can hide all the browsers and just show the main page, and the note anywhere button where you can take notes while surfing the internet.
I found using Google Chrome more interesting than
using internet explorer because the features I have
mention and the speed as well.

4- Talking about Google Docs; it’s a website where you’ll have the opportunity to share documents, presentations, spread sheets and much more. You can also make online surveys. I found this very useful since we can share all the things we need while preparing our group projects and reports. Moreover we can chat with each other, discuss and see the changes done by the members. If you are not satisfied with the current version of your report you have the choice of restoring the previous versions which I liked it a lot.

5- Another topic was about Social bookmarking “Delicious”. This topic attracted me a lot because by using this website we can add all the articles and websites to it with brief description of the article in order to know what this article was about. Moreover we can create stacks according to each topic or put labels so that whenever you need an article about a specific topic you don’t need to search a lot you will easily find it straight away. Actually I used it for my Industry Project and it was very useful and I think I will be using it in the future. In addition I suggest that these kinds of topics should be taught in the foundation or even before because it will make the students more organized and will save their time and energy.

6- Twitter is one of the social networks that used across the world by everyone such as individuals, celebrities, scientists, religious people and more. I am using this social network since 2010 for that reason the training session wasn’t that beneficial for me as I knew nearly everything about it. Twitter is mainly about following people that interests you and share with them your thoughts, your movements and updated news about yourself in only 140 characters.
As of now I have 24 followers and I’m following 41 people that also include UAE Barq, which tweets all the updated news about UAE. Other than that, I’m following some poetry groups which tweet different poems from variety of poets.

7- Talking about Picasa, I knew about it before the training session but I didn’t use it a lot. But after Nadia introduced it to us I really liked it, as there are many of our pictures that need to be modified a bit such as lightning, crops, add frames, soft focusing and much more. In addition Picasa also help you make photo collages or movies which are my favorite.

8- What to say about Blog… actually blog is all about making your site and put in all your favorite posts and share it with your Google friends. You can do lots of things in blogger for instance; you can add pictures, slide shows, videos and games beside your stories. Moreover you can choose interesting gadgets and add them in your side bar such as links, share it button, calendars, RSS feeds and more. After using blog, to post “My Interests” I think it is a very nice site to use and also a useful activity where you can share your words and memories.

9- G-mail: is a Google email where you can do different things along with sending e-mails such as creating your Tasks, chat with your friends by writing or calling by voice or video  which will make your chat fabulous. G-mail has more storage capacity which make the users like it more than Hotmail or Outlook.

10- Google Earth: by this program you can easily find out locations of the places you like and view pictures provided. You are also able to put your own Place marks with your photos and save them as KMZ file which will enable others to know your favorite places once you send them this file. As I don’t travel often I think I will not need Google Earth, but maybe I might use it for searching some local places.

11- Google Site: This is one of the ways you can create your own site which is free and easy to use. I used Google site to create a learning site which will enable you to learn Google features in a easy steps. I liked it but not as  much as Blogs.

12- Facebook: I used Facebook long time back.. it is all about your social relations where you can make new friends, play games or make business promotions. You can also share pictures, videos and tag them to your friends. It is really a good way to keep in touch with the world and make good communication.

13- Google Search: I think it is very useful tool as it teaches you some detailed techniques to make your search more efficient and direct to the point. For instance, you can do a specific files such as PowerPoint or PDFs. You can also do some calculations so you don't need to worry if you don't have  your calculator next to you. Moreover, you can choose your results by using AND or OR.

I really enjoyed these sessions because we had the opportunity to learn several new things beside our Accounting courses.

      Have a Lovely Holiday all

Thank You

Never Lose Hope

Today I will talk about an Indian  Movie that teaches us a very important lesson which is "Never Lose Hope" ..
This movie mainly about Doctor Chawla who has every happiness in his life. He has a Great Job, a Beautiful Girlfriend who will become his wife very soon, and a Dream of finding Cancer Treatment. But unfortunately one day he had an accident that paralyzed him and made him hate everything .. he just wanted to die. Then he met a Boy called Roshan who taught him a very small lesson that people forget by time or actually ignore. In order to make the doctor remember his dream and get back his faith on himself, the Boy described a picturethrough the room window, of a dog who wants to cross a small lake in order to get the food from the other side .. the way Roshan was describing made Doctor Chawla feel encouraged and try to use his hand and do some movements. After that day Doctor Chawla did his best and found out the cancer treatment, but when he wanted to tell Roshan about it he discovered that Roshan died as cancer patient last night. He was also shocked that there was nothing behind the room window to be described as Roshan was describing.

This is the movie and the scene I was Talking about starts from the "minute 8"

Here when he found out the truth

So Every Time Remember that
 " Yes .. We All Can "
NEVER Lose Hope in anything

Rabab

Today is the day we all were waiting for .....

But before I tell you why ..
I will talk about this person first because the reason is related to her. Her name is Rabab, I call her Rabilla :D, we first met on the first year of college "Higher Diploma  year 01". My first impression on her was that she was very annoying and she asks question a lot. Actually she must not be blamed because she faced some problems regarding the college portal in the first few days. Later on we became good friends beside three more, two of them are currently in Finance and one is Nadia who is still my friend in my class along with Rabab. We share lots of good memories together and we really had fun being friends. When we met first she was engaged then I attended her engagement ceremony as well as her wedding. I feel like I shared a very big part of her happiness and TODAY is the day all class were waiting She Got Her First Baby after a journey of Nine months.

I still remember every moment ...  it seems like yesterday ... days are moving quickly and we are getting older and older ... we were children, became teenagers, some of us became mothers, and finally we really became WOMEN

I would like to take this opportunity to thank her for her help and support towards my studies and wish her a very happy life with her family.

Self Confidence

I always feel like I suffer from lack of confidence toward myself, because I rarely speak up my thoughts or talk with people. I think I'm more of listener than talker, maybe one of the reason that I don't talk much is that I came across people who took my ideas as nothing. Today I read this article about how to strengthen your self confidence and decided to share it with you all.

They are total of 10 steps and here are the steps I liked:

Good Posture
Similarly, the way a person carries herself tells a story. People with slumped shoulders and lethargic movements display a lack of self confidence. They aren’t enthusiastic about what they’re doing and they don’t consider themselves important. By practicing good posture, you’ll automatically feel more confident. Stand up straight, keep your head up, and make eye contact. You’ll make a positive impression on others and instantly feel more alert and empowered.

                                           Gratitude
When you focus too much on what you want, the mind creates reasons why you can’t have it. This leads you to dwell on your weaknesses. The best way to avoid this is consciously focusing on gratitude. Set aside time each day to mentally list everything you have to be grateful for. Recall your past successes, unique skills, loving relationships, and positive momentum. You’ll be amazed how much you have going for you and motivated to take that next step towards success.

Compliment other people
When we think negatively about ourselves, we often project that feeling on to others in the form of insults and gossip. To break this cycle of negativity, get in the habit of praising other people. Refuse to engage in backstabbing gossip and make an effort to compliment those around you. In the process, you’ll become well liked and build self confidence. By looking for the best in others, you indirectly bring out the best in yourself.

Work out
Along the same lines as personal appearance, physical fitness has a huge effect on self confidence. If you’re out of shape, you’ll feel insecure, unattractive, and less energetic. By working out, you improve your physcial appearance, energize yourself, and accomplish something positive. Having the discipline to work out not only makes you feel better, it creates positive momentum that you can build on the rest of the day.

Focus on contribution
Too often we get caught up in our own desires. We focus too much on ourselves and not enough on the needs of other people. If you stop thinking about yourself and concentrate on the contribution you’re making to the rest of the world, you won’t worry as much about you own flaws. This will increase self confidence and allow you to contribute with maximum efficiency. The more you contribute to the world the more you’ll be rewarded with personal success and recognition.
